A project to redesign Pandora's Box Wikipedia page
Research and begin developing a concept for an online feature article (from Wikipedia). From the groundwork developed in the proposal, refine the proposed design and construct a working responsive and/or interactive online article using HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Individual project
Mythology/About:
This section of the website can be the
cornerstone of the site, providing the main focus and context for the
rest of the content. By providing a thorough understanding of the myth,
this section can help engage visitors and encourage them to explore the
rest of the site.
Characters:
This section can discuss the character of Pandora
herself, examining her curiosity and the consequences of her actions. By
providing more detail about the characters, this section can help
visitors to connect with the myth on a more personal level.
The Box:
This section of the website can explore the container itself, and the
different interpretations of it throughout history. It can provide
information on the original description of the box as a large storage
jar, as well as the mistranslation that has led to the more common
understanding of it as a box. It can also examine the symbolic
significance of the box and its contents, including the presence of
Hope. By exploring the container in detail, this section can add depth
to the visitors' understanding of the myth.
The Harvard Film Archive website has a clean and minimalist design with a black and white color scheme that gives it a classic and sophisticated feel. The website's use of black and white contributes to its timeless aesthetic and creates a visual harmony throughout the site. Overall, the website's minimalist design and use of typography and visuals, well-organized layout help to create a visually compelling website that is easy to use and navigate.
The website offers a lot of content, some users may find the collection overwhelming, and there is a potential for users to get lost in the vast collection of films and other visual materials. Because of its niche design, the website may not be as accessible or appealing to a broader audience interested in mainstream cinema.
The Black Dog Story website effectively utilizes whitespace to stand out
and makes it easy for users to focus on the information that is most
important. It focuses on visual storytelling and creates an immersive
experience for users.
The site has very unique and fascinating animation that fits for its
abstract content, which I also want to pursue in my project for the
depiction of ‘Hope’. The visual element only includes simple shapes with
only black and white, but it still manages to capture the user attention
and create a very surreal theme.
The website is visually stunning with minimal, modern and clean layout. It has a good use of monotone colour that creates harmony to the eyes. It incorporate subtle yet effective animation that is very well-fit with its overall mood and also enhance user experience. However, the abundance of high-quality images make it difficult to navigate to specific pieces of artwork.
From the above research and planning, I coded the proposal site using html, css, and javascript.
